OC-020 QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION OF THE ABDOMINAL WALL MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR BY A NEW CONNECTED ABDOMINAL BINDER: A PRELIMINARY STUDY

چکیده

Abstract Aim Abdominal wall hernias result from a mechanical conflict between forces acting on the (mainly intra-abdominal pressure (IAP)) and its ability to deform. An abdominal binder instrumented with sensors has been developed non-invasively quantify deformation during straining. Methods A prospective study was conducted eight healthy subjects. External deformations were evaluated by patented connected resistive covering anterolateral area. IAP intragastric ingested sensor (SmartPill™, Medtronic), muscles dynamic MRI (semi-automated segmentation method applied rectus abdominis (RA) lateral muscle (LM)). The relationship these signals investigated Valsalva maneuver. Results provided time-related mapping of deformation. Two different patterns individualized corresponding RA LM areas. Deformation rate (mean 1.21mV/s for 1.66mV/s LM) maximum signal 3.03mV 4.24mV recorded. These both correlated deep in observed (Pearson R=0.89 RA, R=0.94 LM; p<0.005). also significantly variation R=0.98 R=0.99 Conclusion This non-invasive simply quickly reflects larger is needed investigate inter-individual variability, evaluate links quantitative behavior surgical outcomes hernia surgery.

Primary Thoracic Wall Hydatid Cyst Extended to the Abdominal wall: A Case Report

Hydatid disease (HD) is an infectious disease caused by echinococcosis. Hydatid cyst (HC) most commonly invades the liver (60-70%) and the lungs (20-25%). However, other parts of the body and even unusual locations can be infected, mimicking a benign lesion that could be easily missed. Primary HC of the chest wall is extremely rare, even in countries where echinococcosis is endemic. We he...
